Policies

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY:

* Sign Personal Chef Services Policies and Procedures prior to service activation

* Review and approve (or request adjustments as needed) menu at least 3 days prior to cook date
* Keep children and pets out of work area / kitchen to ensure safety
* Provide entry to home or leave key/instructions for entry if not home on cooking day (See Lockout Fee)


CHEF RESPONSIBILITY:

* Sign Personal Chef Services Policies and Procedures prior to service activation
* Collaborate with you to determine your tastes and dietary needs
* Customize your menu to suit your tastes and dietary needs, and submit it to you for review at least 5 days prior to cook date
* Prepare fresh meals to your specifications
* Utilize safe food handling methods during meal preparation
* Leave freshly prepared and packaged meals with reheating instructions (when applicable)


FEES:
Payment for first cook date is due prior to service activation. Subsequently, all payments must be received no later than a week prior to scheduled cook day. I accept cash, check, and electronic transfer.


MENU SUBMISSION:
Because I need proper shopping and prep time to develop the highest quality cuisine, menu choices must be approved no later than 2 days prior to scheduled cook date. Should any desired menu changes not be received in a timely manner, I will go ahead with the original menu created for that week.

LOCKOUT FEE:
If client’s home is inaccessible or unsafe, service fee is nonrefundable.


RETURNED CHECKS:
Any check/payment returned for insufficient funds will result in a $35 NSF fee due prior to the next cooking date. Client will also be responsible for all charges/fees levied by the bank.


CANCELLATIONS:
If a meal plan is cancelled by the client 5 days or less from scheduled cook day, service fee is nonrefundable. In the unlikely event that the chef must cancel a scheduled cook date, a full refund will be provided to the client.

 

DISCLAIMER:
Jennifer Tanner has been educated and trained in the proper handling of food and storage and utilizes those practices to ensure that your food will be an enjoyable and safe product. However, once she has completed her service, you are responsible for continuing proper food storage and handling techniques to prevent any food-borne illness. If you have any questions concerning food safety or proper storage/reheating techniques, she will be happy to discuss them with you. Midtown Mobile Chef and Jennifer Tanner are not liable for operational failure of or subsequent repairs to stove tops, ovens, microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, disposals, vacuum sealers, plumbing (or any other client property used that is necessary for the completion of cooking duties) resulting from normal use and/or accumulative wear and tear.
